“The ensuing pandemic has resulted in severe hardships for artists worldwide. I am hopeful that the formation of DhunAnand will help bring resources to committed artists to let them do what they love doing,” said Shivpreet Singh Kapoor, Founder of DhunAnand Foundation. “The name of this project was inspired by the following President Biden’s tweet: My dad used to say, ‘all you want, as a middle-class person, is just to have a little bit of breathing room.’ The idea is to provide artists ongoing financial support and inspiration to continue their creative work, as long as their work benefits humanity.”

DhunAnand Foundation has established an esteemed #BreathingRoom Council of several artists who have dedicated their life to serve music and oneness. This council includes Muriel Anderson, Janapriyan Levine, Pt. Rajendra Prasanna, Suellen Primost, Dr. Gurnam Singh, Shivpreet Singh and Shabnam Virmani. This council will be selects aligned and committed musicians for inclusion in the DhunAnand family as Ambassadors of Oneness.

A combination of factors including diversity, talent, intention, commitment and financial need are being used to nominate the initial artists. In the first year we expect to have contributing artists from the US, UK, India, Pakistan and Bhutan. Resources provided to artists to develop, distribute and market creations will include — but not be limited to — financial resources, technical support, creation resources, artistic collaborators, business acumen, and inspiration to create projects that foster oneness.

We have the funds to give monthly stipends to 5 artists. The project initially is currently providing monthly stipends to three musicians: Sarfraz Lal Mardana, Bhalu Ram Dabdi, and Swarjit Singh. If you have know of any musicians who can avail this program, please email us at team@dhunanand.org.
