DhunAnand Foundation’s First Moondrunk Night Sold Out in Northern California
Scintillating Performance by Qawwals Rizwan and Muazzam Ali Khan (RMAK)

DhunAnand Foundation’s inaugural Moondrunk Night, held on November 19th in the East Bay, achieved an extraordinary sold-out success, underscoring Northern California’s growing enthusiasm for intimate world-music and spiritual-arts gatherings.
The evening featured legendary Qawwals Rizwan and Muazzam Ali Khan (RMAK), torchbearers of the iconic Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan lineage. Their powerful Punjabi Qawwalis, soaring improvisations, and deeply devotional renditions electrified the room, earning repeated applause and several standing ovations.
“Moondrunk Nights is DhunAnand Foundation’s intimate series dedicated to world music, poetry, and spiritual arts,” said Shivpreet Singh, founder of DhunAnand Foundation. “These nights create spaces where artists and audiences can become ‘moondrunk’ on beauty, truth, and love—supporting artists who serve the planet and fostering deep listening, reflection, and community. We envision a constellation of cities where world-class artists, seekers, and neighbors meet regularly to share song, story, and silence.”
“Music has the power to dissolve religious and cultural boundaries and gather us into a shared space of unison,” said Sanjog Singh, a volunteer with DhunAnand Foundation. “With Rizwan and Muazzam Ali Khan Sahib, the room truly vibrated with belonging and togetherness. To help create nights like this, under Shivpreet Singh’s vision for Moondrunk Nights, feels like taking a small but meaningful step toward the oneness we all talk about.”
The event also served as a fundraiser supporting DhunAnand Foundation’s artist-empowerment initiatives. Proceeds from the night helped fund an award presented to Ahmed Rizwan, DhunAnand Foundation’s Ambassador of Oneness—a distinguished poet and journalist from Multan, Pakistan, celebrated for his contributions to literature and journalism.
